House on Ireland’s west coast

A light-filled coastal home overlooking the sea, designed for family life.

Set on Ireland’s west coast, this new-build house was carefully designed to sit quietly within its surroundings while offering generous living space inside. The brief was to create a home that felt relaxed, welcoming and easy to live in, with interiors that made the most of the sea views and natural light.

The palette was kept soft and spacious, with pale greens, blues and greys reflecting the changing light from the water, balanced by touches of red and terracotta for warmth and depth. At the heart of the home, a double-height kitchen creates an open and sociable space for entertaining friends and family, featuring bespoke ladder-back chairs with rush seats – inspired by the nearby fishing lodge.

In the drawing room, a large antique dresser sourced in England by Devas brings a sense of history and scale, while curated ceramic pots add a layer of texture and artisanal charm to the kitchen. The result is a house that feels peaceful, airy and deeply connected to its coastal setting.
