This house was a new-build project, and the house is in a wonderful position overlooking the sea on the West coast of Ireland. Designed to look unobtrusive within its surroundings, it is deceptively spacious inside with six bedrooms – the largest bedroom having four beds for ideal for children. The house is designed to be a comfortable and relaxing family home, an idyllic place for family summer holidays.
The interior is light and spacious, with a double height Kitchen, perfect for entertaining large numbers in an informal way.
The colour palette focuses on pale greens, pale blues and greys. These colours reflect the light from the sea and are counterbalanced with splashes of red and terracotta. The decoration has been kept simple with plains, stripes and checks have used. Interesting pottery, some of which was bought at an Antiques fair in Bath, prints found in Dublin and other works of art add warmth and interest to the neutral background colours.
