Last week we had a fantastic evening at the Christie’s Lifestyle Late. Bringing in the New Year with a new style of event, Christie’s dedicated their late opening to leisure and lifestyle.
There were some wonderful pop-up shops with a delicious selection of healthy treats to try. We loved Pure Sin Treats who offer sugar free, gluten free, low calorie chocolate made from natural ingredients like raw cacao powder and vegan nut butters.
We would also recommend Imbibery London’s detox drink range which we tried on the night. They serve a range of cold pressed fruit and vegetable juices as well as nut milks which offer detoxing benefits.
Our personal favourite event on the night was a yoga session led by Julie Montagu ‘The Flexie Foodie’ who is an inspirational yoga teacher. The yoga workshop particularly interested us as our founder, Philippa Devas, is a fully trained yoga instructor.
Yoga has multiple benefits, it improves flexibility and posture as well as improving strength. Alongside and as a result of the physical benefits, yoga can also have powerful emotional benefits and help us deal with anxiety.
Now fully trained, Philippa runs one-to-one and small group classes which are tailor made to her students abilities and needs. She combines Hatha based yoga with Vinyasa flow, a faster paced, more physically dynamic yoga mixing stretching, breathing and postures. She also runs yoga retreats in Europe, last summer for example Devata Yoga organised and ran a yoga retreat on the stunning island of Zakynthos with a superb chef who offered healthy meals throughout the stay.
